Due to the enforced school closure we have prepared a learning plan so that your child is still able to access the learning at home. You can contact us firstname.lastname@example.org.
The expectations will be that your child is still completing work that we have set which will be similar if not the same as the work that they would be completing in school. Activities will be set through the learning platform called ‘Google Classroom’.
Below is a copy of the timetable we follow at school.
English – A writing assignment will be set every day via Google Classroom which will need to be ‘turned in’. A Spelling and a Grammar assignment will also be set each week, also to be ‘turned in’.
Guided Reading – Each Monday a comprehension activity will be set for children to complete. Answers will be issued on a Wednesday for children to self-mark. Children should read every day for at least 15 minutes and record this in their reading record.
Maths – A maths assignment will be set every day via Google Classroom which will need to be ‘turned in’. We also expect your child to continue playing ‘Times Table Rock Stars’, a log in is stuck in their reading diary.
Science – Every Tuesday a science lesson will be available via the developing expert’s website for children to explore. This can be accessed with a log in which is stuck in their reading diary. We also expect them to complete the lesson quiz online afterwards.
PE – Your child would normally have PE twice a week, please use this time to encourage your child to get up and get moving. There is a resource available at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3LPrhI0v-w (5 minute workouts for your child to enjoy)
Other curriculum areas – PSHE, ICT, Music, RE, MFL and Art & DT. We will endeavour to find activities to enable your children to continue developing in these areas, these will be set via Google Classroom. In addition we will create a menu of suggested activities.
Google Classroom is a home learning platform that will allow children to complete tasks set by us during the closure.
Please see attached YouTube clip explaining Google Classroom for parents and students.
Thank you for all your support and look forward to seeing your children again in class.
