About Us
Our Vision
Every child matters – We see each child as an individual and celebrate who they are and what they enjoy/are interested in. We are a team and know we work best when everyone knows they matter and are appreciated.
Every child flourishes – We have high expectations of our children and have designed a curriculum so every child can flourish and become the best version of themselves
Every child achieves – At Little Paxton, every child is supported to achieve their full potential, making strong progress from their individual starting points.
We believe everyone in our school community matters, that each person should have the chance to learn together for a brighter future for all. Our goal is for all our children; everyone in our staff team; all our families and the wider Little Paxton community to flourish and achieve.
Our Mission
We are dedicated to delivering an education which ensures all children have the knowledge and skills across the curriculum so that they are ready to continue their learning journey at secondary school. Our curriculum is designed to encourage children to be curious, delve deeper and be excited about their learning so that they know more and remember more. We strive to ensure our children have real life experiences; opportunities to engage with their local community and excellence in staff teaching practices. The Little Paxton family (governors, staff, families, the wider community and our brilliant children) work together to make Little Paxton Primary School the best it can be. Our culture is one built on nurture and relationships so that children know to dream big; not to give up; they’ve got it (and we’ve got them).
Our Values
Our core values are based on being positive, kind and safe. We use these three values in all aspects of school life referring to them when guiding children’s development through school. These values also form our school rules as they are concerned chiefly with safety, the happiness of the child and ensuring every child is prepared for life in society when they leave Little Paxton.
Be Positive
We are positive about our learning
We are positive about our school (arriving on time and wearing the correct uniform)
We are positive about ourselves which means we give our best at all times
Be Kind
We are kind to everyone we meet
We listen to others speak and we are kind when someone has different opinions to ours
We are kind with our words and actions
We are kind to all the adults in our school community
Be Safe
We move around the school in a safe manner
We follow instructions to keep ourselves safe
We keep ourselves safe at play by risk assessing
We stay safe online and make safe choices in our community
In addition, we have six “Learning Behaviours” which we expect all children and adults to show/demonstrate in their behaviours around our school.
We ask all members of our school community to be:
- Curious
- Courageous
- Creative
- Compassionate
- Caring
- Confident
Each learning behaviour is chosen as a focus every half term and in our Celebration Assemblies, we award certificates to children who have exhibited that particular learning behaviour consistently or for the first time. The reasons for these awards are shared with our whole school community in our weekly newsletter, Paxton Press. We award Praise Points to children for going above and beyond in demonstrating our school values (school rules) and learning behaviours. Following the rules and the learning behaviours is an example of displaying prosocial behaviours which link to our Behaviour Policy.

Testimonials
Things to celebrate about our school
I wanted to pass on how delighted I am with how my son is settling back to school this year. I want to express how happy I am with Mr Saxby and the good start my boy has had. I want to praise the leadership team for their efforts and coping with the demands of lockdown, school year start and changes on a daily basis. I think the school has been amazing.
It was so lovely to have a tour of the school ....It’s such a lovely school and I have never had a bad experience with the school and my daughter is thriving there.
I think you all do a great job and be proud of the effort you put it to make it lovely school and make our children happy.
I was completely blown away with all the pictures and actually seeing the lovely packed lunch on picnic day.
We select our child's meals not really knowing that they are offered much more than "cheese sandwich, fish fingers and chips or pasta pots" all that additional fruit/salad and homemade puddings. The fact it's all cooked on site is fantastic and you can see the effort from the staff. Since the new manager, Sylvia, took over it seems to of improved beyond the normal school dinners!
I should thank you and all the other members of staff for all support you are providing my son and the other students at this uncertain time.
We appreciate your hard work.
